FAQs
How do you help churches?
We help churches and other Assemblies of God ministries with the manpower they need to overcome obstacles to effective ministry. We do this through connecting volunteers to projects who need them. We send church teams (think short term domestic missions trips), RV Volunteers (think tradespeople who travel in RVs and work on construction projects), and individuals to meet the needs of ministries all over Indiana, Ohio, and Puerto Rico!
Do you just help certain churches/ministries?
Yes, Church Mobilization is affiliated with the Assemblies of God as a division of US Missions. We are able to assist Assemblies of God churches and ministries (campgrounds, recovery homes, Teen Challenge, Bible Colleges, etc.).
Indiana and Ohio I get, but what’s with Puerto Rico?
In 2022, we were asked by our National Director to spend the winter season making urgent repairs and renovations due to Hurricane Maria’s damage in Puerto Rico at the District Office and Bible College. Although we’ve made huge progress in this endeavor, there is more work to be done!
Since Indiana and Ohio have harsh winters and Puerto Rico has harsh summers, we are able to split our time between the two field regions during the peak building time in each. Daniel speaks Spanish and has experience working as a missionary in Latin America, so it has been an extremely fruitful initiative! We love bringing teams from the mainland to experience life in Puerto Rico with their brothers and sisters in Christ! It’s a win-win!
How do you afford to live while working as a missionary?
Great question! We are missionaries with the Assemblies of God. We are responsible for raising a minimum amount of monthly ongoing support in order to fulfill our call. This monthly budget covers our salary as well as the costs of running the ministry. We need partners like you to give so we can go!
What organization is Church Mobilization affiliated with?
We are part of Assemblies of God US Missions. The Assemblies of God takes missions very seriously and spends a great deal of time vetting missionary families. We are proud to be supported by and accountable to an organization who wants to make sure we succeed. Find out more about the Assemblies of God and our beliefs at www.ag.org.
I’ve heard your ministry referred to as MAPS as well as Church Mobilization. Why is that?
In short, we used to be known as MAPS, but we are now called Church Mobilization. MAPS has a long, rich history of making a difference in the world. MAPS is well-known in foreign missions but many people are unaware that MAPS has existed in the United States as well! In the past few years, US MAPS has expanded. “Church Mobilization” fits our vision and mission much better! We mobilize the Church for ministry in every way possible!
